A quick note about root zone aeration. It is one of the most over looked factors in the production of container grown Cannabis. Plants require Carbon Dioxide to their above ground growth but need oxygen to their roots.
The container itself must be of appropriate dimensions to not constrict root development especially during the final stages of flowering and have adequate drainage so as to not allow pooling or stagnation areas of solution to develop. The medium must be able to retain moisture yet drain completely to promote aeration to the roots and be of a consistency that is light enough to not inhibit accelerated growth and root development.
Hydrogen peroxide can be used as an additive to your nutrient solution or water to increase oxygen content in solutions [we will use the term solutions to describe water, Reverse Osmosis treated water and water containing nutrients] that are delivered to the root zone. The extraction of carbon dioxide from solutions by using Bio-Balls or similar articles to add surface area for the process of discharging CO2 gas from the solution to add space for oxygen is in practice in some hydro systems as well as aqua systems using no medium.
Temperature reduction or cooling of solutions to maintain oxygen content is also viable in some situations and the use of Calcium Carbonate as a bed as well as an inside perimeter of the container induces oxygen and aeration to the root zone at critical stages of flowering thereby increasing health and overall quantities. A circulated and oxygenated solution supplied to the plants through hydrating fulfills the spectrum of oxygenation to the root zone.
I can not emphasize the importance of aeration for overall health and production quantities, it is vital
